A lull
I’ve been quiet for a little while, but not for lack of listening to tons of great new music. I’ll be posting a lot soon.
And I will (knock on wood) be fixing my concert slump—mediocre Das Racist concert followed by missed Ra Ra Riot (and Yellow Ostrich, and Delicate Steve) concert snafu—this Saturday by seeing The National in San Francisco. I’m sort of opposed to seeing a band twice touring on one album, but, man, I just really need to go to a good concert. The Local Natives (and Wye Oak) are opening, so that should be a treat as well. Last time I saw The National, The Antlers opened.
The National: come for the exceptional openers, stay for the Matt Berninger getting drunk on wine and tenuously climbing on the sound equipment.
