I was looking at recent The National setlists on setlist.fm and I was curious as to why they’ve been ending shows with Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks. It’s a good song, but an interesting choice for a show-ender. Last night it became clear: they do it unplugged and ask the audience to sing along.
It was a strong way to end a great concert, and a pretty insane encore (both Mr. November and Terrible Love rocked our faces off, of course).
I apologize for my singing voice in this video, but hey—they asked us to sing. I can’t argue with a drunk Matt Berninger.
